Las Vegas

Las Vegas was our next stop. We were able to spend 5 days there...Wednesday to Sunday. We met up with Grandpa Jim, Grandma Jacci, Grandpa Dan, Grandma Nancy, an Aunt, and a couple of Uncles.
As I said in my Disney post some of our group got sick. Matt and Madeline were pretty miserable by the time we got to Vegas. Lily was getting better, but only for a day. Luckily (I guess?) we were only 2 hours away from St. George, which is inside our insurance network. We made the trek there. The doctor said they have the flu, and most likely THE SWINE FLU! Matt and Lily also had ear infections, so they got antibiotics. He decided to give Madeline Tamiflu, because she is diabetic.
Matt ended up going to the BYU game with his dad and Jacci's family. He still wasn't feeling that great, but who misses a BYU game??!! On Saturday Madeline was feeling much better, so we hit the strip with Grandma Jacci and our 2 awesome tour guides...Uncle Don and Uncle Rich! We told Madeline and Christopher not to take anything that people try to hand them and to not look at the ground (because there we lots of little things that people hand out on the ground).
This was a chocolate fountain, very cool.

Giant pumpkin at the gardens inside the Bellagio.
Talking tree also in the garden.

Yes, that is a lion above our heads. The lion habitat at MGM was so neat. There was a bridge that we could walk under and the lions walked over. Uncle Don put his hand up to the lion's paw...the lion's paw was bigger.
My thoughts on the swine flu: Our biggest concern was Madeline getting it. Diabetics tend to get sicker than the average person with any illness. This was a piece of cake compared to other flu strains she has had. Her blood sugar stayed in control and she got over it quickly. I know other people get it and are MISERABLE. Luckily, we had it easy. I ended up getting it a few weeks later. I was very achy and tired. Hopefully, it will skip Christopher!
